The ECC Tar River District
just celebrated their annual Gold Rush. Cub Scouts from the entire
district met at Medoc Mt State Park to "prospect" gold painted rocks to
'spend' on games. Any scout caught with more than three rocks were
taken to "jail", a common occurrence where jailbreaks are the norm
(basically, they just climbed out of the top). Most scouts were caught
with rocks stuffed anywhere from every pocket they had to their socks!
Half of the fun of the day was getting arrested and busting out of
jail. After the Gold Rush scouts took a lunch break, the scouts in Pack
#238 took a quick nature hike after lunch. Some of the scouts camped
overnight in one of the nearby camp sites.
