have non-slide bottoms. Flip-flops are not acceptable, as they are
dangerous when using outdoor play equipment.
3. Label clothes
plainly.
Your
Child
Allow time for
adjustment to the new experience of preschool. A good nights sleep
helps. Be positive and on time.
Parents
should not linger.
Trust
the Preschool staff to help with the adjustment period.
Parental
Involvement
1. Do not hesitate
to express concern or to ask questions of your child’s teacher.
2. Volunteer to
assist as a substitute or help with special events, snacks, etc.
3. Visits to the
classroom are welcomed, but do not bring other children. Watch your
child grow ability to follow directions and work with the group. It
will be helpful if your teacher knows in advance if you plan to visit in
case some special event is planned for that day.
4. Birthdays are
special and are celebrated with a party and special snacks. Parents
will be asked to help with these events. Gifts are not exchanged, and
party favors are not necessary. A neat way to celebrate is for the
Birthday Child to donate a book to the class in honor of the child’s
birthday.
5. Field trips are
planned from time-to-time. These may be walking trips or outings such
as a visit to the pumpkin farm. Parents will be notified in advance of
these events and may be asked to help with transportation and
supervision. A permission slip will need to be filled out prior to the
trip. |
