“Nurture
and pastoral care are ways in which Christians minister to one another. The
nurture of believers and their children in the Christian community is a process
of bringing them to full maturity in Jesus Christ. Pastoral care is the support
which Christians offer one another in daily living and at times of need and of
crisis in personal and communal life. Often nurture involves pastoral care and
pastoral care furthers Christian nurture.”
(Book of Order, W-6.1003)
The
Pastoral Care Committee is charged with keeping the session and the congregation
informed about significant events in the lives of church members and joining
with them in times of sadness and celebration. |
