Luke 1:6-17

Zechariah and Elizabeth thought God had forgotten or turned away from them. This was not what was happening. God was preparing them.

God has a purpose for delays in our lives. When times are discouraging it is easy to think that God has forgotten us. God uses the trials in our life to deepen our faith and prepares us for special blessings.

John’s birth was timed to coincide with the birth of Jesus. Christmas is about the birth of the one ordained by God to be our Savior. John’s birth leads us to worship and bow down before our Savior.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please give us patience and understanding as we experience delays, disappointment, and uncertainty in our daily lives.  Lead us to trust in you as you prepare us to carry out your will.
